Happy Birthday Olivia!!

What do you get for a child that not only has everything she needs, but has everything she needs and more TIMES 2!!

Well, There is a set of bunk beds at Olivia's apartment for her stepsisters, and she loves it when she visits there when they're not there because she gets to sleep on the top bunk.  That's the only thing I could think of that she wants that she doesn't have.  Olivia already has a nice bed, so we got her a loft bed to put over the full size bed she already has.  It worked out great, but is a little (okay a lot) taller than we expected.  We'll see how it works out, but we may have to put the ladder on the other side due to the location of the ceiling fan!!

Here she is when she woke up to her Birthday Surprise :).

A new one

This was on an email I just read.

What if someone said this to you????

On a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,

about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefoot , peering through the window, and shivering
with cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'was the boy's  reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now..'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her.
'Are you God's wife?'

Last day of First Grade

Olivia's last day of first grade was yesterday, and her Birthday is tomorrow.  We will have cupcakes for her at daycare on her actual birthday, but I wanted her to get to do something special with her class too, so I brought in muffins and juice.  They were having the end of the year party that afternoon, and I knew they'd already have cupcakes and junk for that afternoon, so we had "Birthday Breakfast." That way, I'd get to be there for the fun.  Olivia didn't even eat any muffins, but she was so happy about passing them out to everyone else.  She cracks me up.  The juices came in packs of 10, and there are 21 students, so I brought Olivia a Sierra Mist out of the refrigerator in case everyone was there, and I called it a "special birthday girl drink" since she doesn't usually get a whole can, especially not at 7:45 am.  She may not have wanted any part of the muffins, but she sure was glad to have that drink :). Here's me and my first grader, for the last time :(.

Twice in one night!

Over the past couple of weeks, Tyler has rolled off the bed several time, and stayed asleep in the floor.  Junior puts him back in the bed, and he never even knows what happened.  Last night, it happened twice in the same night!  I guess he's having some active dreams or something :).

Little Graduates Class of 2011

Last night was Tyler's Pre-K graduation.  He was very excited and informed me the night before that his teacher told them they have to wear their "Handsome Clothes." And, BOY was he HANDSOME!!!

And here's his handsome Daddy trying to sneak a bite of cake :).

Fun on the Farm

Olivia's first grade field trip was to Densmore Farm in Skitts Mountain.  It was a lot of fun... and lucky for the teacher that the ONLY PARENT VOLUNTEER that showed up was ALSO a teacher.... there was lots of organizing, and behavior managing necessary...

Loaded up and ready to go :)

Picky Eater!

Olivia and Tyler, both, are pretty picky eaters. But I've almost figured out how to give them balanced meals with the few things they'll eat.  They both like cubed steak, which is what we had for dinner tonight, but for some reason, Olivia decided she wanted something else.

I told her that I was cooking dinner for everyone, and if she didn't like what we were having, she'd have to fix her own dinner.  After trying to negotiate chips for dinner, this is what she came up with... ALL BY HERSELF!!!!!!  She did everything!

A turkey sandwich wtih Mayo, and some cheddar "cubes" that she "cut" up herself. I thought it was TERRIFIC.  She even put the turkey, cheese, and mayo back in the fridge when she was done, and put the twist tie back on the bread (we need to work on that skill a little, though).  I did end up trading her some of her cheese for a carrot, but you can't blame a girl for trying.  She loves cheese ALMOST as much as her Aunt Lindsey!!
