Watermelon Party Continued...

We had quite a bit of leftover watermelon from Olivia's Watermelon Birthday party, so we brought some to the pool with us for a snack.

This boy sure does LOVE some watermelon! And he's so very cute ;-)

Yaay for weekday mornings during the summer!!!

I can't think of a better way to spend it than snuggled up on the couch with a comfy quilt, a cup of cereal, and some quality cartoons ;-).

Have I mentioned I love my job?!?!

I'm here for the party!

And as if Olivia hadn't already had a fabulous birthday weekend...... We had a little party for her on Sunday. We got out the trusty ole waterslide, and had a watermelon party :-)

We had a little trouble getting the candles lit with the breeze blowing, but with a few towels, and some quick lighting, we finally got them lit.

Happy Birthday ;-)

And the first ride on the slide goes to the birthday girl :-)

And there they go ;-) I think everyone had tons of fun!

We went to my mother in law's for dinner later that afternoon.... and by the looks of this picture, I think Olivia enjoyed her birthday weekend :-)

Go Shawty, its ya Birthday!

I think its safe to say Olivia had a pretty terrific Birthday weekend! On Friday, I took her shopping to let her pick out "Aything I want" (HER words, not mine!!!). We went to the Tanger Outlets in Commerce, and the first store the girl spots.... Justice (A rediculously overpriced girls' clothing store). She got to pick out one shirt from the rack, and she got 2 or 3 other things from the clearance rack, which wasn't too bad, but about regular price at other stores.
From there, we visited several other stores, where Olivia RACKED UP on some new clothes plus got a new swim suit, a cd, and a dvd, and Tyler got a couple of badly needed pairs of shorts. After ending up on the opposite side of the outlet mall, we decided to catch a golf cart ride back to the car.

The next morning (her actual birthday), we got up and hit Dollar General for a birthday crown :-)

Which she wore to Tyler's Tee Ball game ;-) where Mrs. Janice came to see Tyler's last game and gave Olivia her Birthday Present.  Oh how we love Mrs. Janice :-)

There was one more birthday present that Olivia wanted that we didn't find (cheap enough) at the outlets. "Zipper Shoes!" she has been wanting some of those sandals that zip up the back for months, now, and even though, I don't like them, I couldn't make he wait any longer. On the plus side, though, Olivia got to 'spin the wheel' at the shoe store for being the birthday girl, and got a $3 discount. She told the lady working there "oh, thank you, I love coupons!" That's my girl!!!! :)

And after a whole season of Tee Ball, Tyler can finally stand still in the "Baseball Ready" position ;-) He's getting SO BIG!!!!!! He was just telling me yesterday that he's not a little boy anymore, he's a big boy. OH I just want to squeeze him!

And since it was the end of the season, they gave out trophies :-)
SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!!!!!

Last Day of School!

We've had a great year this year, despite the ups and downs, meetings, med changes, "blue days," "pink days," being grounded, a broken foot, and a few other unexpected events.... we were very fortunate to have terrific teachers for both kids, and that both of them learned a lot this year, and had fun.

Here's my baby on her last day as a second grader... *sigh*
And here's my upcoming FIRST GRADER!!!! on his last day of Kindergarten :( The pig on his head was from the end of the year play they did.  Tyler's line was "We need to stop griping, we need to stop squawking. Lets think up a plan, enough of this talking!" (can you tell I practiced it with him a time or two...lol).

WOW how the time has flown!!!!!!!!!!! These kids are SO BIG and they make me SO PROUD!!!! I love them Love Them LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!

When fun transforms....

The evening started with a kiddie pool placed in a dip in the yard to make the pool deeper in the middle:
It progressed to dumping the water into the hole to make a ginormous mud puddle for Tyler to play in. This play included riding his and Olivia's scooters through the puddle, and riding his wagon into the puddle.
and ended with Tyler passing out on his Monster Truck book ;-)

The boy sure does love his mud!!!! He had a total blast :) and wore himself out!!! I'm sure we at dinner at some point during the evening, but it must not have been too exciting since I didn't get a picture.

Take me out to the ball game :)

Today, we had time to swing by Zaxby's for some dinner and a little play time before Tyler's game :).

The kids were SO SWEET (as always). They both wanted to get their own drinks, then they wanted to sit outside.  We ate up all our delicious food, then played around for a few minutes.  Little Mr. and Miss independent, of course, had to take several trips back into the building to refill their drinks. Then, they wanted a quarter for the machines.... I didn't have quarters, so my smartie little children took my nickles and dimes to the cashier to exchange for quarters so that they could get a toy from the quarter machine. They are something else!! I cherish every minute with them!!!

Here are my honeys watching Tyler play ball :)

So much for Plan A....

Today was supposed to be field day at Olivia and Tyler's school.  I packed them extra snacks and drinks, slathered them down with sunscreen, and found some old sunglasses that both of them could wear, and even scratched up $2.50 each so they could buy chick-fil-a biscuits at school that morning so they'd be full and have plenty of energy for the day's activities.  Here they are in the car as we're waiting to get up to the door to drop them off. (I think they could tell from the weather that it wasn't going to be the day we'd prepared for)

UNFORTUNATELY.... Field day was cancelled due to rain :( They rescheduled it for the following Mondy..... oh well, so much for Plan A!!

Ivory Soap

Thanks to pinterest, we now have another fun trick :).  If you put a bar of ivory soap in the microwave for 2 minutes, it will turn into a soapy cloud!!

Please note that the popcorn we popped immediately after cooking the soap did not taste like soap :)
